Presidents Report
Gregg Welin
Hello
I hope you all had a good and safe
deer season, and a great Thanksgiving. As I am writing this there are a few flurries
coming down, but what we need is a little more help from Mother Nature to get a
good dumping of snow. On December 1st, the trails officially opened
in
We are once again selling the calendar raffle books. This can be a great fundraiser for the club if we sell them all. The drawing will be on the 2nd of January, and winners will be mailed out weekly. If you want a calendar, (it is a good stocking stuffer) please notify one of the directors, and they will be glad to help you out.
Remember if you are one of the die hard riders out hitting the trails now, please use caution. There are many obstacles that are not covered with snow that can be hazardous. If you find anything that should be marked, please contact us to get it done, or to get signs and posts so you can fix it yourself. Have a safe and happy holiday season and we will see you at our next club meeting at Remedies in Greenbush on the 21st of December at 7:00PM.

Trail Admin Report
Like Moosie said above, we don’t have quite enough snow to groom yet but we are readying the two groomers for the upcoming season. The MP is getting new tracks and a drive wheel that seems to be hard to get right now. The ASV received new batteries, a cut-off switch and finally has the auxiliary gas tank installed. Wooo – hoo. We’ve struggled with that one a bit but we should now be able to go from one side of Beltami to the other without refueling.
On the DNR side, we have not received our usual forms to bid for the Beltrami West portion of the forest. The DNR is looking to transfer these trails to Grant-In-Aid for grooming purpose this year and possibly for all trail duties for the future. We are in negotiation with Mary Broten and also with the Baudette and Fourtown clubs to work a plan so we can loop these trails efficiently. Stay tuned for more info.
The S-310 trail is torn up due to REA activities earlier this year and I am going to call them to see if we can get some help pounding out the big bumps and ruts. EDA 1 is really rough I am told so please be careful up there. We should be adjusting the bridge position at S-310 and EDA 1 so it will not be affected by beaver dams next spring.
See you on the trail.
